UON Engineering Car Park

Our first pilot project was installed at the University of Newcastle, on the main campus at Callaghan.

It consisted of small, surface-mounted sensors monitoring the occupancy status of car parks, which communicate wirelessly to a gateway housed within a nearby building. The status is communicated to the cloud for dissemination to mobile devices, web apps and digital road-side signage.

The purpose of the pilot project was to investigate the practicalities of such a system in the University environment. Details on the installation, reliability and scalability of the hardware were assessed, and surveys were conducted to gauge interest and feedback from the community.
